March 18, 2022

Each of us needs to balance several roles in our lives on a daily basis.

We’re not simply employees; we’re also sons and daughters to our parents, partners to our significant others, and parents to our children if we already have them.

We want to be on top of things despite our hectic lives. It’s no surprise that many of us are looking for simpler and more efficient methods of accomplishing our goals. And this is where life hacking may help.

Life hacking can help you increase your productivity, save money, improve your physical and emotional health, and more. All you have to do now is figure out which ones will work for you.

Also, as with anything on the internet, not all life hacks are accurate. Some of them could be made up and phony.

So think about that before you believe or try any of them. Although the joy is in trying most hacks, whether they work or not. Just make sure you don’t jeopardize your own or anybody else’s safety in the process.

What is a Life Hack, exactly?

A life hack is a one-of-a-kind concept, technique, or shortcut that allows you to be more productive and do more tasks in less time.

Wengie or Wendy Huang, a YouTube star who has over 80 videos on her channel on life hacks, defines the concept as “any method of doing something that either simplifies or makes your life better in some way.”

We’ve prepared a list of clever and simple life hacks that are ideal for busy Filipinos in this article. Hopefully, these suggestions will help you improve or at least make some aspects of your life more bearable.

Hacks for Traveling

  1. Always have a little piece of card in your wallet with your identification, emergency contact information, and allergies. It will be useful, especially if the emergency responder is unable to decipher your phone’s top-secret passcode. You never know what will happen to you on a journey.
  2. Isn’t it annoying how your suitcase and the rest of your clothes start to stink midway through your vacation? That should be taken care of by this hack. Before you apply this procedure, ensure your contaminated garments are completely dry.
  3. Place your cash into an empty lip balm tube to keep it safe from prying eyes. It’s the last place anyone expects you to keep your money. Its compact size also allows you to carry around your emergency cash without being discovered.
  4. When traveling, make a spot to put small documents. You can use the trick below if you have access to a ziplock bag. If you don’t have any, you can do the same trick with the small plastic envelopes found at bookstores.
  5. By browsing incognito, you can find cheap airfares. Going incognito is much more than not leaving a trail of your browsing activity. You can truly use it, according to seasoned travelers, to secure cheaper aircraft tickets. Give it a go!
  6. Instead of stacking, roll your clothes before packing. Rolling your clothing instead of folding them is a popular space-saving trick. Rolling also reduces the need to straighten your garments before wearing them by eliminating creases.
  7. When you can’t find an appropriate power outlet while traveling, charge your phone using the hotel TV. It’s inconvenient to leave the TV on while charging your phone, but it works.

Home Hacks

  1. Do you have any leftovers from the celebration meal from yesterday? Before heating in the microwave, carve a hole in the center of the plate using a spoon or fork. Rice or noodles might be difficult to reheat in the microwave. Some portions of the dish absorb heat more quickly than others, resulting in a dish that is half warm and half chilly. With this trick, though, you should be able to receive more uniformly heated food.
  2. So you’re having a “Netflix and chill” night, but your beer isn’t quite cold enough? Wrap a moist paper towel around the beer bottle and place it in the fridge for another 15 minutes before serving.
  3. Alternatively, if you prefer wine, you can use this trick. Instead of ice, freeze a bunch of grapes a few hours ahead of time and use them to keep your white wine cold.
  4. You’re on a tight budget, but you still want to get the most out of your palaman? Take a look at this trick. Thank you very much.
  5. You’re trying to go to zero waste, but you just can’t bring yourself to buy those 16-hour cold water bottles. Fill your plastic water bottle halfway with water and freeze it sideways. Fill it with water once it’s frozen and you’ll have a refreshing drink to take with you. Perfect for those scorching summer days!

Parenting Hacks

  1. Have little children who have yet to learn how to unlock the door? By holding the lock open with a rubber band during playtime, you can keep kids from getting locked inside a room.
  2. To wean your child off her pacifier, snip off a small piece of it. Just make sure to sanitize the scissors and the pacifier itself in the process.
  3. Are you worried about losing your child in a crowd? Write your contact information on your child’s arm so that whoever discovers him or her can contact you.
  4. Set up one board for each of your children if you’re a working parent with a large family. This will help you keep track of their locations, grades, and the documents you need to sign for them. You’ll always be up to date this way.
  5. Pick up a lint roller from the hardware store and use it to clean up glitter from your kids’ artwork that has landed on the floor.
  6. To avoid getting too much product and wasting it, tie elastic bands over the pump nozzle of your hand soap and lotion.
